Columbia Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram awarded a Culleoka Unit School senior with a brand new 2022 Jeep Compass at the seventh annual Strive to Drive event.

Mallori McKinney was named the winner during the live event, which took place at the dealership on May 21. The Strive to Drive program began in 2015 by Columbia Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram owner Eddie Collier, along with former Superintendent Eddie Hickman. McKinney was unable to be reached for comment.

The program recognizes seniors receiving A/B honor roll and or perfect attendance during a nine-week period.

“Every nine weeks students receive a card to put into a drawing for a car,” said Henry Loggins, Sales Manager at Columbia Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram, who has been involved in Strive to Drive since the program began. Students also earn an entry for completing FAFSA and Tennessee Promise, a scholarship and mentoring program which focuses on increasing the number of students attending college within the state. Students are eligible for up to 10 entries in total.

Loggins said the purpose of the program is to motivate students while also giving back to the community.

“I’ve heard students talk about going to school even when they didn’t want to,” he said.

Lisa Ventura, Superintendent of MCPS said Strive to Drive is making a difference in education.

“We are excited to have community partners like Columbia Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram come together and make a difference in education,” she said. “Investing in the future is what we are all about, and we are thankful for CDJR and their staff for being so passionate about education and our graduate’s futures.”

Since the program began, $300,000 has been awarded to promote education in Maury County.
