PV meeting

Jim Cripps was the first of six Pleasant View residents to address the Board of Mayor and Aldermen to oppose a request for rezoning for a 133-home development.

The Pleasant View Board of Mayor and Aldermen unanimously rejected a request for a zoning change for a proposed development of more than 100 homes after six residents opposed the project at the board’s meeting last week.

During the public forum portion of the meeting, the residents encouraged the board to reject the request to build 133 homes in the Hicks Edgen Road area.

“They’re proposing to build 133 homes with 1,188 square feet as the smallest,” Pleasant View resident Jim Cripps told the board.

Other residents brought up issues of additional noise, increased crime because of no night patrol and no attention to improved infrastructure.
