Barbara Jacobs Bogan recently resurrected old photos of snowy times in Donelson from the late 1950s or early 1960s. She said they all remember sleigh riding behind the Neiderhauser home between Cumberland Circle and Spring Valley. She said it was one of the favorite places for sledding. ‘The bad thing was the spring at the bottom of the hill, which was lined with stone,’ Bogan said. She said they had to stop pretty quickly before hitting the spring and causing injuries. ‘We never really cared about that in those days,’ she said. Bogan said she’s sure today children would not have been allowed to have the fun they had back in the day like they did on that hill.
