Airport art

Nashville artists Jessica Eichman and Sarah Dark created “Eye Got You”, a Bonnaroo-themed piece of art that is displayed at the Nashville airport.

Nashville International Airport has put up its ninth-annual Bonnaroo-themed skylight exhibition, including a piece by two Nashville artists.

The exhibition is funded by Arts at the Airport and the Bonnaroo Works Fund, the charitable arm of the music festival. The winning entries are suspended from the ceiling in four skylights located in Concourses B and C and will be on display through April 9, 2023. Each winning artist received a $4,500 honorarium.

The featured artists are Cara Lynch, Nico Meyer, Alyssa Polizzi, Scott Wilson, Cassie Maylee, Jessica Eichman and Sarah Dark.

Eichman and Dark – the artists from Nashville — created “Eye Got You” which is displayed on Concourse B. They began working together in the fall of 2017, costuming for plays at a school both of their sons attended, according to a news release from the airport. This is their first public art exhibit together.

The four winning entries were selected by a jury composed of members of the Bonnaroo team and arts at the airport board of directors. The winners were selected based on artistic quality and communication of the Bonnaroo brand to both new and familiar audiences.

The 2022 Bonnaroo event will be held this weekend in Manchester. Many of the festival attendees use the Nashville airport when traveling to the music festival.
