Allow us to introduce you to a Nashville Humane Association dog named Casanova.

Casanova has lived at NHA for over a month, and during this time at NHA, staff, volunteers and fosters all have a huge crush on this large, adult mixed-breed “PUPPER-DOG LOVE” and just can’t wait for him to find the forever home he deserves. Anyone out there reading this and falling in love with his pictures, please know that meeting Casanova in person is even more fun. He is such a happy boy who totally lives up to his name. He is a lover!

A little bit more about this handsome boy: Casanova’s large personality fits his large size. He is a 2-year-old Lab mix who weighs 57 pounds. He is neutered, up to date on shots and is microchipped. Casanova is an active guy who is always ready for outside cardio adventures. He’s so good on the leash, too. He walks right by your side and doesn’t pull or tug. Casanova also has excellent inside potty manners and a face that is filled with sweetness.

Oh, speaking of sweetness, Casanova loves to give kisses! So just be ready for that big tongue of his to slobber up your face every chance he gets.

Casanova was in an NHA foster home for a couple of weeks back in December. Here’s what his foster family had to say about him:

“Casanova is the sweetest boy in the world. He absolutely loves being outside and would love a yard to run around in. He’s a pretty mellow guy but has moments of occasional goofiness. Loves nuzzling his head under pillows for naps and he even enjoys a good cuddle. He’s super polite and gentle even though he’s a big strong guy. (He also seemed to really enjoy when we played guitar for him.) He would be the perfect pup for someone who works from home or a multi-person home because his favorite thing to do is follow you around the house. If you’re looking for a chill dog who just wants to be your best bud, Casanova is your guy. P.S., he goes nuts for peanut butter!”

Fun, right? Who thinks that the chances of Casanova finding a home in Music City with a guitar player will happen? Bonus if it’s a guitar-playing peanut butter lover.

There are a few other things that would make the most perfect home for Mister C. He needs a forever home without any cats or other dogs. It’s true he’s a lover, but Casanova would do best as an only pet. We recommend he go to a single-family home vs. an apartment, condo or town home because Casanova is a vocal guy. And even though his raspy bark is totally endearing to all his fans here at NHA, it may not be to someone your home shares walls with.

Who will be the lucky one to adopt or even short-term foster Casanova at NHA? Because this dog would sure love to be adopted or fostered by you! Casanova deserves a forever home in ‘22 like all the pets do. NHA is open for adoptions starting at 10 a.m. Tuesday through Sunday. Please come visit and get to know this wonderful adult dog. Thank you!

Foster families are essential members of the NHA family. Foster caregivers provide care for shelter animals in their home. Foster animals can be with a foster family anywhere from a few days to a few weeks, and fosters are a valuable resource used to place shelter animals in homes that fit their needs. If you are interested in opening your home and providing socialization and love to a shelter animal, fostering might be for you.
