The family of the late, great singer-songwriter John Prine is planning a weeklong musical celebration of his legacy in Nashville this fall, and tickets are on sale now.

The Prine family’s “You Got Gold” event will feature shows played by yet-announced artists Oct. 3-10 at some of Nashville’s most renowned music venues.

As it stands, the paying of homage will begin at the legendary Ryman Auditorium on Oct. 6-7, then continue at the CMA Theater at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum on Oct. 8 and follow at the Basement East on Oct. 9.

More events are yet to be announced by the Prine family, but the week will ultimately culminate on Prine’s birthday, Oct. 10.

Tickets went on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at yougotgold.johnprine.com.

The late Prine has been referred to as the “Mark Twain of Songwriting,” earning praise and admiration as one of the greatest to ever do it from musicians as eclectic as Johnny Cash and Roger Waters.

Prine died in April 2020 due to complications from COVID-19.

Proceeds from ticket sales will go the newly created 501©(3), The Hello in There Foundation, which the Prine family established to honor Prine’s memory by identifying and collaborating with individuals and communities where people are marginalized or discriminated against.
