Family, friends and love ones celebrated the 100th birthday of Mother Ann Clayton on Jan. 20 at the Hermitage House Smorgasbord. Metro-Nashville Councilman Jeff Syracuse of the 15th District, who presented Clayton with a centenarian award, was also in attendance. She also received a proclamation from Gov. Bill Lee for the milestone. Clayton is a faithful member of Evans Hill Missionary Baptist Church. She is the wife of the late Isaiah Clayton, a mother, grandmother and great-great-grandmother of 31 children and a great-great-great-grandmother of 21 children, all of whom she cherishes greatly.
