Lipscomb University and Nashville State Community College have partnered to create a pathway for Nashville State students to get a bachelor’s degree through Lipscomb Online.

The schools announced Tuesday that they came to an agreement that will allow students who graduate from Nashville State to smoothly transfer to Lipscomb University’s online program. Students must graduate with either an associate of arts or associate of science degree and qualify for enrollment to make the transfer.

“Nashville State has been a strong partner with Lipscomb University for a number of years,” Lipscomb President Candice McQueen said. “This agreement solidifies that partnership and the pathway it provides for students to continue to pursue their educational goals after they graduate from Nashville State.”

Alongside forming an official pathway to continuing education at Lipscomb, the agreement offers a 20% discount on tuition to students coming to Lipscomb’s online programs from Nashville State.

Lipscomb Online offers a variety of the school’s undergraduate programs, including business leadership, customer experience, data analytics, entertainment management, hospitality management, integrated studies, organizational communication, psychology, public administration, strategic leadership, supply chain and operations management, technology management and nursing.

Nashville State President Shanna Jackson said she appreciates the partnership with Lipscomb and the benefit it will have for students looking to continue their education.

“At Nashville State, we remain focused on establishing strong transfer pathways for our students and appreciate Lipscomb University’s collaborate spirit and work to make this partnership a reality,” Jackson said. “Knowing the flexibility provided by online learning and that many of our programs align, Lipscomb Online is an option worth exploring for any graduating Nashville State student.”
