A suspect robbed two Hermitage gas stations Sept. 30 within minutes of one another.
According to Metro Nashville police public information officer Kris Mumford, the two robberies were on Old Hickory Boulevard.
The first gas station hit was at 11:45 p.m. at the Exxon Tiger Market at 5430 Old Hickory Blvd.
“The victim said the suspect walked behind the counter and punched them,” said Mumford.
She said the suspect demanded money and access to the store’s safe but could not get into the safe. The robber took $10 from the clerk’s purse, $35 from the register, three cartons of cigarettes and left on foot.
Minutes later, police said they believed the same suspect went to the Mapco at 5400 Old Hickory Blvd.
“The report said he brandished a gun,” Mumford said.
The suspect went behind the counter and took $40 from the register.
He also left on foot, said Mumford.
She said detectives believed the two robberies were related.
