There were at least nine armed robberies at Hermitage gas stations, convenience stores and liquor businesses in the last two months, and Metro Hermitage detectives call the suspect a “serial commercial robbery suspect.”
Last week, Metro Nashville Hermitage precinct detectives said they need the public’s help to find and charge a man who held up the businesses at gunpoint. They said he walks behind the counter, brandishes a gun and then demands money.
In one recent robbery, the clerk refused to hand over cash, and the suspect hit him with his gun, police said. A description of the suspect is that he appears to be in his early 20s, stands about 6 feet tall and weighs about 175 pounds. He is described as thin and tall, police said.
The first incident was Sept. 27 at the Exxon at 5430 Old Hickory Blvd.; the second was Sept. 29 at the Mapco at 5400 Old Hickory Blvd.; the third was the same day at the Mapco at 4711 Andrew Jackson Pkwy.; the fourth was again at the Mapco at 5400 Old Hickory Blvd.; the fifth was Oct. 5 again at the 5400 Mapco location; the sixth incident he waited a little more than a week to rob the Mapco on Old Hickory Blvd. on Oct. 13; the seventh robbery was at the Kwik Sack at 3830 Old Hickory Blvd., the last two both happened Oct. 30 at Hermitage Wine & Liquors at 2811 Old Hickory Blvd.; and Hermitage Discount Tobacco and Beer on Bell Road.
