The wife of a Dickson man convicted last month of murdering his son will face trial on aggravated child neglect charges in February.
Krystal Daniels appeared in a Dickson County courtroom Monday where her attorney, the district attorney and Judge David Wolfe discussed potential trial dates and options for the jury.
While the details are not finalized, jury selection will begin in Stewart County on Feb. 1, 2022. If the jury is not sequestered, it will be transported from Stewart County to Dickson County every day of the trial.
Daniels’ attorney, Michael Flanagan, requested that a panel of double the number of normal jurors be called.
Daniels will appear again in court on Sept. 14, the same day as the sentencing hearing for her husband, Joseph Daniels. He was convicted of second-degree murder and other charges in June.
Krystal Daniels is being held on a $1 million bond.
The Danielses’ 5-year-old son, Joe Clyde Daniels, was reported missing in 2018. No body was ever found. Joseph Daniels has given several conflicting confessions in which he admits to killing Joe Clyde.
