MT. JULIET—Cedar Recovery, a leading addiction treatment facility headquartered in Mt Juliet, announced Dr. Lynn Massingale and Ken O’Keefe joined the company’s board of directors.
Massingale and O’Keefe bring decades of health care and financial experience to the Cedar Recovery board of directors.
“The addition of Lynn and Ken will provide the Cedar Recovery leadership team with the resources necessary to expand our mission of solving the opioid epidemic and restoring the communities we serve by helping patients feel better, get better and stay better,” said CEO Joe Bond.
Massingale, a 2018 Tennessee Health Care Hall of Fame inductee, began his career in health care in 1979 when he co-founded TeamHealth in Knoxville. His innovation and leadership at TeamHealth transformed the emergency department industry and resulted in TeamHealth became one of the largest providers of outsourced physician staffing solutions for hospitals in the United States.
“Mental health and substance use disorder are the single biggest issues facing our health care system,” Massingale said. “I’m excited to be a part of the Cedar Recovery board of directors, where I feel that we have the nucleus to help so many people change their lives and make a great impact on the communities we serve. I truly believe that Cedar Recovery’s approach to addiction treatment is revolutionary.”
O’Keefe is a founding principal of Beecken Petty O’Keefe & Co., a private equity firm that specializes in health care based in Chicago. He will provide an invaluable voice on the board, bringing private equity expertise and health care application knowledge to the team.
“I’m excited and grateful to be part of the Cedar Recovery board of directors.” O’Keefe said. “The leadership team at Cedar Recovery is sound and has a well-defined mission of solving the opioid crisis and restoring the communities they serve.”
