A man was struck and killed Nov. 11 while crossing Old Hickory Boulevard in Hermitage.

Mt. Juliet resident Benjamin Wade, 39, was walking across Old Hickory Boulevard near the Lebanon Pike intersection at about 6 p.m. when a tractor-trailer hit him, according to Metro Nashville police.

According to police, there are no streetlights to illuminate the road in the area. The driver of the semi-truck was Christopher Smith, 45, of Murfreesboro.

Police said Smith showed no signs of impairment. Evidence at the scene made police believe Smith was driving under the speed limit when the incident happened. Officers didn’t charge Smith.
