Metro Nashville Police Department detectives arrested a man at the courthouse Thursday after a grand jury indicted him on first-degree murder charges.

Kenneth Bradford, 27, of Nashville, was arrested in connection with the December shooting death of Christopher Webber in an alley between Blank Street and 16th Avenue North.

Police say Webber, 25, drove into the alley in a black Mercedes on the afternoon of Dec. 2, 2020, and was almost immediately fired upon. The car crashed into a building at 16th Avenue North and Jackson Street.

Webber died shortly after arriving at an area hospital.

An investigation by Homicide Unit Detective James Davis led to Bradford as the suspect in the shooting. Bradford and Webber knew each other, police said.

Bradford was arrested at the courthouse by members of MNPD’s TITANS Unit, also known as The Investigative Team Addressing Neighborhood Shootings.

He was taken into custody while at the courthouse for an appearance on unrelated charges. Bradford refused to answer detectives’ questions before he was booked, authorities said.
