Metro Nashville police remained on the lookout for the owner of a Kia Sportage, possibly orange, connected to the Aug. 11 killing of Benjamin Lane, 30, outside his Colbert Way townhouse.

Police asked residents in the Hermitage, Donelson and Old Hickory areas to be on the lookout for the vehicle.

According to police, Lane and his girlfriend were putting together some furniture outside Lane’s home when Lane was hit by a shotgun blast. He later died at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

An anonymous person said the surveillance photo of the suspect vehicle may not be exactly like the picture posted, but is likely similar and perhaps a year older model. The color is the same.

Anyone with information about the Kia Sportage or Lane’s killing is asked to contact Detective Mike Windsor at 615-862-7608 or CrimeStoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers to CrimeStoppers can remain anonymous and could qualify for a cash reward.
