Metro-Nashville police detectives remain on the lookout for a white getaway car in connection with an apparent robbery and shooting of a woman Jan. 8 outside Opry Mills Mall.
According to police, a 20-year-old woman was shot and critically wounded 5:40 p.m. when she was walking back to her car after shopping. Paramedics took her to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
Metro police spokesperson Kris Mumford said the suspect left in a white sedan after the shooting.
“As this is an ongoing investigation. Please direct all inquiries to the Metro Nashville Police Department,” Opry Mills officials said in a statement.
The last time a shooting happened at the mall was in 2018 when a 22-year-old man was shot and killed, according to officials.
Police said the suspect car is white with a sunroof and a black or missing gas cap.
Both the Nashville Fire Department and police responded to the scene. No one else was injured in the incident.
