Judy Ann Loftis Shroder, age 67 of Old Hickory, TN died on Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at the TriStar Summit Medical Center. Judy Ann Loftis was born on July 13, 1952 to Clara Lorene and Earl Chaffin Loftis in Nashville, TN. She was the youngest of eight siblings. Judy graduated in 1970 from Bellevue High School.
Throughout her life, Judy remained in the Nashville area. She married, becoming a Shroder, later starting a family in 1983 when her first daughter, Misti was born. Her youngest daughter Megan followed in 1986. Judy worked in the accounting profession most of her life and met many lifelong friends throughout her career.
Judy proudly became a Grandmother in 2001 with the birth of her granddaughter Kailey. “Nanny” as she was called, traveled near and far to attend various softball, basketball, and baseball games and tournaments to cheer Kailey on. In 2011 she welcomed her grandson, Mason. Mason and his Nanny enjoyed card games and movie nights followed by trips to get ice cream on their many sleepovers.
Judy had many friends who remained close to her through the years. Their many deep-sea fishing trips and golf rounds were memories she truly enjoyed making. Judy will always be remembered for her infectious laugh, caring heart, and her kind personality.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Betty Jo White; her brothers, Howell B. Loftis, Warren B. Loftis, and Earl C. “Doonie” Loftis, Jr.
Judy is survived by her loving daughters, Misti Nippert (Nathan), and Megan Shroder; her sister, Mary L. Smith (Paul); brothers, Joseph “Rob” Loftis (Alberta), and Henry Clay Loftis; her grandchildren, Kailey Brown, and Mason Winters. Also surviving are several beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 6, at 1:00 PM at the Taylor Funeral Home in Dickson with Pastor Kenneth Brown officiating. Place of rest will be in the Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens, graveside at 3:00 PM. Visitation will be held on Monday from 11:00 AM until the time of service at 1:00 PM.
