Maria Winton Bailey Goodloe, 88, of Franklin, TN, (formerly from Gallatin) went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 18, 2019.
Born October 3, 1931, in Clarksville, TN, Mrs. Goodloe was a daughter of the late Corinne Frazier Calhoun and James Edmund Bailey, Sr.
She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, James C. Goodloe III; her sister, Corinne B. Slayden; and her brothers ,James E. Bailey and Tyler C. Bailey.
She is survived by her son, James C. Goodloe IV (Deborah); her daughters, Alice G. Darnell (Larry), Barbara G. Johnson (Steve), and Mary Goodloe; her grandchildren, Campbell G. Hackett (Conrad), Ashley D. Navarro (Antonio), Virginia Kate Carpenter (Aaron), John Johnson, and Laura Darnell; her great-grandchildren, Harrison, Eleanor, Jeremiah, and Alicia; and her sister, Ella Hay.
Mrs. Goodloe was a graduate of Austin Peay State College. She was a faithful member, elder, Sunday school teacher, and preschool director and teacher at First Presbyterian Church of Gallatin, and later a member of Donelson Presbyterian Church. She was a lifetime member of Presbyterian Women, a member of Daughters of the American Revolution, a member of the Oak Grove Neighbors FCE, and a member of Sumner County Wildflower Society. She was a program assistant with the UT Extension Service and a Girl Scout leader.
Visitation will be at the Hermitage Funeral Home, on Friday, December 27, from 4 to 7 p.m. Visitation will also be at Donelson Presbyterian Church, 2305 Lebanon Road, Nashville, TN 37214, on Saturday, December 28, at noon, followed by funeral service there at 1 p.m. Interment will be in Crestview Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Donelson Presbyterian Church or to the Foundation for Reformed Theology, 4103 Monument Avenue, Richmond, VA 23230.
