Edward Russell White, 91, of Gallatin, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2020.
Graveside service will be Wednesday, May 27 at 11 a.m. at Bradley Cemetery, with Mark White officiating. Honoring him as pallbearers are Aaron Adcock, Andy Tucker, Kris Freeman, Corey Freeman, Chris Thurman, and Thomas Johnson. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 26 from 3 to 7 p.m. at Family Heritage Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Bradley Cemetery, c/o Gail Eller, 6870 Old Hwy 31-E, Westmoreland, TN 37186.
Mr. White was born Feb. 26, 1929 in Gallatin to the late William Hershel White and Lillian Suddarth White. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Templeton White; and brothers, Billy White and Lee Roy White. He is survived by sons, Jerry White of Gallatin and Terry White (Lynda) of Gallatin; daughter, Elaine White Freeman (Carl) of Gallatin; 5 grandchildren, Susan White Thurman (Chris), Mark White (Juaneylla), Dawn Goodman Crowder (Ray), Kris Freeman (Jennifer), and Corey Freeman (Connie); four great-grandchildren, Deborah White, Barbara White, Seth Crowder, and Taylor Thurman; six step-great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-grandchild. Mr. White worked for Genesco for over 20 years and retired from General Electric after over 20 years of service, but he loved farming. His greatest joys were his family, telling jokes, chewing Mammoth Cave Tobacco, and watching a Braves Baseball Game.
