Susan Gayle Trousdale, age 73, passed away Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at her home in Murfreesboro.

She was the daughter of the late Edwin and Thelma Cady. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Edwin Cady Jr. and sister, Jennifer Willis.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry Trousdale; children, Rebecca Bobo and her husband Ben, Jonathan Trousdale and his wife Lauren; grandchildren, Abigail, Elizabeth, Jacob, Rachel, Joel, Hannah, Luke; sister, Annette Williams; aunt, Lucille Edwards; second daughter, Myriam Djao; and many other family and friends.

Gayle was a person that made many things beautiful. She had the gift of hospitality and generosity. Over five decades, she and her husband served together as missionaries in Africa, before ministering in churches in California and Tennessee. Gayle was always the first to sense God’s leading into their new assignments, especially the last one: catalyzing Disciple Making Movements around the world.

All of the places she lived became open houses for hundreds of guests.

Gayle was a Master Gardener, and long-time member of the Optimistic Gardeners Club. And through her hobbies of painting, crafts, and sewing, she blessed many.

But she was always most happy when doing projects with her seven grandchildren!

She was a member of North Boulevard Church of Christ where visitation will be held Tuesday, April 20, 2021 from 9:00-11:00 AM with a memorial service following at 11:00 AM.
