Donelson Christian Academy’s run at state ended Oct. 8 in a Division II-A Middle Region tournament quarterfinal loss to Franklin Road Academy in five sets. 

The Lady Wildcats won the first set 25-17, but lost the second and third sets, 25-11 and 25-23, respectively. Donelson Christian battled back to win the fourth set 25-23 but lost the fifth set 19-17. 

Kenzie Ducharme finished the match with three aces and 32 digs for the Lady Wildcats. Ava Francis added 22 assists. Claire Cordell racked up 13 kills and 18 digs. Kenzie Brewster had nine kills and eight blocks. Sydney Willis contributed 15 kills and seven blocks. 

The Lady Wildcats entered the Division II-A Middle Region tournament as the No. 3 seed in District 4 and faced District 5 No. 2 seed Franklin Road Academy at FRA.

Donelson Christian defeated Davidson Academy to finish third in the Division II-A District 4 tournament Oct. 3 at Ezell-Harding.

Donelson Christian finished the season with a 22-17 overall record.
