The MBA Big Red basketball team defeated the Riverdale Warriors 60-47 at Johnny Parsley Memorial Gym Tuesday night.
MBA led most of the way but the Warriors had one lead when CJ Johnson was fouled on a 3-point shot hit all three freebies to give Riverdale a 20-19 lead in the second quarter.
The Warriors went over six minutes without a field goal, though, as MBA built the lead to double digits at 41-26. The Big Red's biggest lead was 18 in the final stanza.
Miles Versa led all scorers with 27 for the Big Red while Jackson Francis added 19.
Riverdale also had a pair in double figures as Santonio McDaniel finishged with 12 and Preston Whittington 10.
"We got good shots and some nights they fall and some nights they don't," MBA coach Kevin Anglin said.
MBA improved to 3-1 while Riverdale dropped its fourth straight and fell to 1-6 on the season.
"(Miles) Versa and (Jackson) Francis played extremely well. We had some bad switches that led to bad matchups for us," Riverdale head coach Michael Voss said.
