ANTIOCH—McGavock picked up a key district win against Antioch 70-59 last Friday night on the road. 

The win kept McGavock (13-5, 6-2) tied for second with Cane Ridge (14-9, 6-2) with Hillsboro (14-4, 7-1) in first in District 12-AAA. 

Antioch (3-12, 2-5) jumped out to a 14-13 lead at the end of the first period. McGavock battled back in the second on a 14-10 run to take a 27-24 lead at the half. 

The Raiders built upon its lead in the third on a 17-14 run to extend their lead to 44-38. McGavock ended the game on a 24-21 run in the fourth. 

Marvin Hughes led all scorers with 23 points for McGavock, followed by Monté Streate with 18 and Mike Dowlen with 11. Camin Patterson led Antioch with 19 points, followed by Jonathan Hailey with 10. 

McGavock defeated Hillwood 74-51 on Jan. 21.

McGavock traveled to Hillsboro on Tuesday and will face Glencliff on Friday on the road.
