It was a tough night for Knowledge Academy as McGavock held its opponents scoreless in an 81-0 shutout.
All the Lady Raiders were able to get on the floor, and each of them managed to score a bucket of their own.
The Lady Raiders’ defense did not let the Lady Tigers get anything going. Knowledge Academy’s best chance to score came at the free-throw line, but all four of their attempts from the charity stripe missed.
Most of the Lady Raiders’ points came in transition after they got a turnover, so McGavock head coach Kim May decided to slow the team down and put a little work into the half-court offense.
“I just wanted to try to make my team run an offense as opposed to just making lay-ups all day long.”
Senior Jada Johnson led the scoring with 14 points and added a number of rebounds.
