It didn’t take long for Mt. Juliet High principal Leigh Anne Rainey to fill her vacant head volleyball coaching position after she moved former coach Jennifer Wilson over to lead the Lady Bears basketball program.

Gladeville Middle School guidance counselor Nikki Fosnes recently accepted the job and will become a graduation coach at MJHS.

“I got to know Mrs. Rainey during my time at Mt. Juliet Middle,” Fosnes said. “She reached out to me and let me know about the opening. It seems like a good fit.

“Mt. Juliet is a great place to be. I’ve always wanted to coach at the high school level, and this seems perfect.”

Fosnes is a 2008 graduate of Donelson Christian Academy and earned an undergraduate degree from Maryville College in 2011 — playing setter for the volleyball teams at both institutions.

Fosnes also has ties to Robertson County. She is married to Tyler Fosnes, a 2006 East Robertson High School graduate who later played basketball at Maryville College. She is also the daughter-in-law of Dr. Jeff Fosnes, a former All-SEC basketball standout at Vanderbilt, and Margot Fosnes, Chief Economic Development Officer for the Robertson County Economic Development Board.

Nikki Fosnes spent one year as an assistant coach at East Robertson High School before spending four years coaching at Mt. Juliet Middle. Last year, she led the volleyball program at Gladeville Middle School.
